Delete your account

You can delete your MIMIC account and the data stored with it at any time. The quickest way is inside the app, and it needs no email. If you no longer have the app, you can ask us by email instead.

Option 1: in the app

Open MIMIC on your iPhone or Android phone and sign in.
Open Settings.
Tap Delete account and confirm.

The first stage of the deletion happens immediately. Nothing more is needed, and nobody has to approve it.

Option 2: by email

If you cannot open the app, write to hello@findthemimic.com with the subject “Delete my MIMIC account” and tell us your gamer tag, the name that is shown to other players. MIMIC stores no email address, so the tag is how we find your account. To make sure only you can delete it, we may ask you for details that only the account owner knows, such as your level or the tag of a recent opponent. We carry out the request as soon as we have identified the account, and in any case within one month.

What is deleted, and when

Immediately: your Apple or Google sign-in identifier, your gamer tag, your push tokens and your purchase records on our server are erased, and all sessions are revoked. From that moment the remaining record can no longer be traced back to you, and your tag becomes available to someone else.
After 30 days: the record itself is deleted outright, together with every match, hide and result. The 30 days exist so that an opponent's ongoing match does not collapse mid-game.
Backups: the database is backed up daily and backups are kept for 14 days. After 14 days at the latest, nothing of your account remains there either.
Abuse-prevention notes (for example a note about a refunded purchase) are kept for up to one year.

Good to know

Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account. Delete the account first.
Deleting your account also removes what you bought in the game (ad-free time, cosmetics) from the account. It does not refund anything: payments are handled by Apple or Google Play, and refunds are requested from them.
Challenge links you created, and their results, are deleted together with your account.

Du kannst dein MIMIC-Konto und die dazu gespeicherten Daten jederzeit löschen. Am schnellsten geht es in der App, und es braucht keine E-Mail. Hast du die App nicht mehr, kannst du uns stattdessen per E-Mail darum bitten.

Möglichkeit 1: in der App

Öffne MIMIC auf deinem iPhone oder Android-Telefon und melde dich an.
Öffne die Einstellungen.
Tippe auf Konto löschen und bestätige.

Die erste Stufe der Löschung geschieht sofort. Mehr ist nicht nötig, und niemand muss zustimmen.

Möglichkeit 2: per E-Mail

Kannst du die App nicht öffnen, schreib an hello@findthemimic.com mit dem Betreff „Mein MIMIC-Konto löschen“ und nenne deinen Gamer-Tag, den Namen, der anderen Spielern angezeigt wird. MIMIC speichert keine E-Mail-Adresse, deshalb finden wir dein Konto über den Tag. Damit nur du es löschen kannst, fragen wir gegebenenfalls Angaben ab, die nur die Kontoinhaberin oder der Kontoinhaber kennt, etwa dein Level oder den Tag eines kürzlichen Gegners. Wir führen die Bitte aus, sobald wir das Konto zugeordnet haben, in jedem Fall innerhalb eines Monats.

Was gelöscht wird, und wann

Sofort: Deine Apple- oder Google-Anmelde-Kennung, dein Gamer-Tag, deine Push-Token und deine Kaufvermerke auf unserem Server werden gelöscht, und alle Sitzungen werden widerrufen. Ab diesem Moment lässt sich der verbleibende Datensatz nicht mehr auf dich zurückführen, und dein Tag wird wieder für andere frei.
Nach 30 Tagen: Der Datensatz selbst wird endgültig gelöscht, samt aller Partien, Verstecke und Ergebnisse. Die 30 Tage gibt es, damit die laufende Partie eines Gegners nicht mitten im Spiel zusammenbricht.
Sicherungskopien: Die Datenbank wird täglich gesichert, die Sicherungen 14 Tage aufbewahrt. Spätestens nach 14 Tagen ist auch dort nichts mehr von deinem Konto vorhanden.
Missbrauchs-Vermerke (etwa ein Vermerk zu einem erstatteten Kauf) werden bis zu ein Jahr aufbewahrt.

Gut zu wissen

Die App vom Telefon zu löschen löscht dein Konto nicht. Lösche zuerst das Konto.
Mit dem Konto verschwindet auch, was du im Spiel gekauft hast (Werbefrei-Zeit, Kosmetik), vom Konto. Erstattet wird dadurch nichts: Zahlungen wickeln Apple oder Google Play ab, und Erstattungen fragst du dort an.
Herausforderungs-Links, die du angelegt hast, und ihre Ergebnisse werden zusammen mit deinem Konto gelöscht.
